A New Skateboard Ramp for Grand Bahama
The Y.M.C.A. will be bringing a new and exciting programme to Grand Bahama. To all those students out there who are not interested in basketball, soccer, swimming, baseball, karate, kung-fu or body building here is something new. The first ever skating ramp will be at the new and improved Y.M.C.A..
This ramp will be 10ft. high by 25ft.wide with a connecting ramp of 8ft.high by 25ft. wide with a continuous half pipe of 6ft. high by 16ft. wide. Ramp will be constructed at the western side of the building. Participants will range from 7 and up.
Students who assist with the construction of the ramp will be eligible for the programme package, a helmet, elbow & knee pads and skate board. Before anyone is allowed to skate they will have to take the required lessons to start skating.
The construction and organization will be done by Mr. Al Saunders. Persons interested in assisting with the construction can contact Mr. Saunders at 374-2278. Limited space will be avaiable so to get a head start on everyone else, get involved today, call Mr. Saunders.
A FUND is set up at Kelly’s Freeport for any donations toward building materials. Donations can also be made at the YMCA office. Checks should be made payable to the YMCA and the Skateboard Ramp Fund noted. Donations of building materials will also be grately appreciated.
